Accounting And Donor Management For Conservation Nonprofits Trail Basis is a bookkeeping firm that is focused on conservation nonprofits, owned and operated by Curby Colvin. Accounting/Bookkeeping: I have managed monthly accounting for small and growing nonprofits as well as government organizations. I can keep your organization compliant with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Accounting Systems: I have experience using most of the major accounting systems. I have used QuickBooks Online, Xero, Netsuite, SAP, GNU Cash and other open source systems. Grant Management: I have more than 5 years of experience working for conservation organizations and the Department of Interior where I managed various conservation grants. I have significant experience managing grant compliance and financial management. Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A): I have managed financial models for US Fish & Wildlife field stations to facilitate organizational planning and decision making. My financial planning experience includes forecasting of payroll, property acquisitions, travel expenditures, and operational planning. Donor Management Systems (DMS): I have experience using the major CRM systems (Bloomerang, CiviCRM, Salesforce) to manage donor data. I understand the importance of integrating the CRM with the accounting system so that your nonprofit organization has quality data to support planning work. Automation and Data Management: I have automated repetitive tasks with Excel formulas as well as programming languages. I am an advanced spreadsheet (MS Excel, Google Sheets, LibreOffice Calc) user and know how to structure spreadsheet work to make it repeatable and efficient. Additionally, I have used the Python programming language to automate work. Tax Ready Bookkeeping: I understand what tax preparers need to prepare a tax return and I have experience delivering that. I have experience maintaining accounting records to make the transition into tax preparation efficient.
